May 2 - Funders Forum

Summit at Point LookoutBuffet Luncheon – Noon to 1:15
Program – 1:15 to 4:30 p.m.
Reception & Dinner – 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Join your funder colleagues for an afternoon program focused exclusively on issues related to your grantmaking practice. Hear from those involved in established funder collaboratives and learn about how that work evolved, what it has taken to build the group engagement, what benefits have come from working with other funders, what has worked and what hasn't.

Willa Seldon, a partner at The Bridgespan Group and co-author of the recent article, Needle-Moving Community Collaboratives: A Promising Approach to Addressing America’s Biggest Challenges, will introduce key components of successful collective action initiatives and launch a series of roundtable discussions to explore these ideas in working groups. There will be ample time for intimate conversation and for sharing key ideas and questions with the larger group.

The Funders Forum presents a rare opportunity for Maine's funding community to come together for shared learning, deep and engaged discussion, and peer networking. The Maine Philanthropy Center remains committed to building those connections within the philanthropic community that benefit our communities and the people of this state. Those connections are more critical than ever in times of restrained resources and increased need - we hope that you will make the time to take part in this important opportunity.

The Funders Forum will take place at the Summit of Point Lookout with breathtaking views of Penobscot Bay. There will be time in the afternoon to enjoy a peaceful walk on the mountain trails and get settled into your individual cabin accommodations. In the evening, attendees will gather for an informal reception and dinner, after which teams will form for the 2nd Annual Grantmaker Bowling Tournament. Don't miss out - it only happens every other year!
